About the Authors

DARRELL RIGBY is a Boston-based partner and head of Bain & Company’s Global Innovation and Agile practices. He is also the former head of Bain’s Global Retail practice. Over forty-two years of consulting, Mr. Rigby has led assignments in a wide variety of industries, including innovative growth strategies for more than one hundred of the world’s leading companies.

SARAH ELK is head of Bain & Company’s Global Operating Model practice. She has driven transformational change with many iconic companies over twenty years of consulting. She believes in possibility and is passionate about unleashing human potential as companies transform. She resides in the Chicago area with her husband and four children.

STEVE BEREZ first joined Bain & Company in 1980 and has been with the firm for a total of twenty-eight years. He is a founder of Bain’s Enterprise Technology practice and was until recently its Americas head. Over the past decade, Mr. Berez has helped dozens of firms around the world improve the speed, agility, and effectiveness of their technology-based innovation. He lives in Boston and is inspired by his wife and their two children.
